The split isn't arbitrary. Everything that runs on your own machine costs nothing to run, so it costs nothing to use. Looking at a screenshot with a model costs real money on every call, so that's the one thing the paid tier buys.
Cancel whenever you like — a cancelled subscription keeps working until the end of the period you've already paid for.

Signing in comes first
A subscription attaches to an account, so you'll be asked to sign in before checkout — not before seeing the price. Payment is taken on Stripe's own page; card details never touch this site or the app.
Afterwards, download Toki and sign in with the same account. Pro is already on. Paying with one email and signing into the app with another is the one way to end up looking like the payment vanished — it attaches to the account that paid.
